About Me

My name is Matt Sheehan and I’m the former China correspondent for The Huffington Post and The WorldPost. I’ve lived in Xi’an and Beijing for almost five years. In my time there I did my best to travel around China and learn about the country through lives of the Chinese people that I meet. Now back in my home town of the Bay Area, I’m diving into a grab bag of projects linking China and California.

You can find a selection of the work that I’m most proud of here, and a list of (almost) all my articles for HuffPost here.

I hope you enjoy my work, and I’d love to hear from you. Feel free to contact me:

    Hi Matt,
Love what you’re doing for China and I’m happy to see that not all expats here in China are A-holes! haha. Keep up the good work! Btw, is it supposed to be “there ARE plenty of reasons” in your About Me section? just asking.

      Hey Clark,
Thanks for the props and the correction. I’ll keep trying to do justice to what’s going on here.
